MOORHEAD (KFGO) – The Fargo-Moorhead community came together Monday to help clean the vandalism at the Moorhead Mosque.
The Mosque was spray-painted with derogatory terms and hate speech Saturday night. Video surveillance showed a suspect wearing a camouflage jacket and dark ski mask.
Volunteer & MSUM student Nadir Yusuf said it was sad to see the hatred of one person but happy to see the community come together to help with the clean up.
“It was very disappointing to see someone in our community do something outrageous like this but seeing all these people here shows that there are a lot of community members who care about each other.”
Volunteers showed up with brushes, water, and power washers to help the cleaning process.
A GoFundMe page has been created and has already raised over $30,000 for the Mosque.
