CROOKSTON, Minn. (KFGO) – The Diocese of Crookston is taking precautions against the possible spread of coronavirus.
In a memo to clergy, the policy advises worshippers not to shake hands during the customary Sign of Peace, nor hold hands while saying prayers.
The protocol advises that holy water fonts be emptied. Hand sanitizer will be available before receiving communion.
The diocese also says people should not receive Communion from the chalice if the feel ill.
Crookston Diocese Communications Director Janelle Gergen says additional precautions may be taken if necessary.
The Diocese of Fargo is considering similar measures.
