BRASILIA (Reuters) – The second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping Brazil will dent economic activity in March, April and even into May, central bank president Roberto Campos Neto said on Tuesday.
Speaking in a live online event hosted by Banco Itau, Campos Neto also defended the bank’s “partial normalization” of monetary policy, adding that full normalization would require a change in outlook for inflation expectations and risk premium at the long end of the curve.
