FARGO (KFGO) – Fargo firefighters responded to a report of activated fire alarms with smoke in the building at 2821 8th Street North in Fargo at 11:57 a.m. Saturday. When they arrived, there was a fire found in the wall near the north entry with smoke throughout the building.
Crews began working on accessing the area that was burning, they had to remove the wall sheeting and flooring to expose the structural members that were burning. The Fire was found in the floor and wall of the front entry, the wall of storage space near the front entry, and the wall of an adjoining apartment. The fire was knocked down within 15 minutes of the first engine’s arrival.
One firefighter was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cost to repair the damage is initially estimated at $25,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
