HENSLER, N.D. -Some cattle discovered March 3 floating in the Missouri River have been identified as owned by Clark Price of Hensler, N.D.
The Oliver County cattle producer discovered some of his herd grazing in a field had walked onto the ice and fell through. He estimates that 25 head may have perished, but will have a more accurate count in the next few days when the herd is brought in and can be counted. Local law enforcement, North Dakota Stockmen’s Association, and multiple state agencies are working together with Price to develop a response plan.
Price said he and his family appreciate the help of the agencies and all the concern and support of the community during this crisis.
