FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – Two people are in custody and a person who was standing outside their car suffered serious injuries when she was struck by a car on I-94 west of Fergus Falls. It happened at about 8:30 a.m. Wed.
State Patrol Sgt. Jesse Grabow says troopers were on-scene when the car hit the female, whose age hasn’t been released. A tow truck was also struck. The two people who were in the car that hit the person ran, but were caught a short time later. A medical helicopter was sent to the scene and the two eastbound lanes of the interstate were closed for about two hours.
One of the people taken into custody was a 15-year-old boy, who was driving the car. He’s in the juvenile detention center in Moorhead. His passenger was an 18-year-old woman.
The patrol, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s deputies and Fergus Falls Police tracked down the two people who were arrested.
