GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The North Dakota State men’s basketball team lost in overtime at North Dakota on Saturday night, 82-78. Senior Rocky Kreuser scored a career-high 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Bison.
It was NDSU’s first loss in Summit League play, falling to 5-1 in the league. UND improved to 3-3 in conference play.
The contest went to overtime tied at 67-67. NDSU led 71-70 with just over three minutes left in OT when a 10-second backcourt violation on the Bison sparked an 8-2 run for UND. The Fighting Hawks scored 8 of their last 10 points at the free throw line.
Sam Griesel scored 11 points for NDSU, and Jarius Cook, Tyree Eady and Grant Nelson all added 10. Mitchell Sueker led the Fighting Hawks with 22 points.
The Bison were hurt by 16 turnovers, which were converted into 14 UND points.
Kreuser’s 32-point output was the first 30-plus scoring performance by a Bison this season.
