FARGO (KFGO) – A new host has been named for “The Drive” and “Drive Time News” late afternoons on KFGO.
Veteran broadcaster Dan Michaels will replace Jack Sunday, who announced last week that he is leaving the airwaves to spend more time with his wife, who suffers from a rare neurological condition. Michaels is also the public address announcer for Bison athletics, a role he’s held for 20 years.
“I am going to try to, I want to have the current issues of the day on the air from 4 to 5 p.m. and then the “Drive Time News” hour at 5, but I also want to have, I’m kind of an informal guy, kind of fun emotions from time to time,” said Michaels, who began his radio career in his hometown of Valley City in 1977 when he was 15.
“I like funny, I enjoy that, I am going to try to have a little humor, I am going to try to touch your heart a little bit, but I also know that there are news stories of the day that we’re going to have on, I like to have a nice blend,” added Michaels.
Michaels owns his own radio and television production company, with clients across the country.
In 1990, he formed “The Christmas Gift,” a non-profit that raises money for those in need during the holiday season.
