DUSHANBE (Reuters) – Tajikistan’s ruling People’s Democratic Party led by President Imomali Rakhmon leads the March 1 parliamentary election with 50.4% of the vote, the former Soviet republic’s Central Election Commission said on Monday, citing preliminary vote results.
Tajikistan uses a mixed system in which 22 of the 63 seats are distributed based on party list voting and the rest are contested in single-seat constituencies.
