Republicans win legislative seats in North Dakota District 26, oust veteran Democratic senator

BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO) – Republicans swept District 26 in southeastern North Dakota.

Jason Heitkamp defeated longtime Democratic Senator Jim Dotzenrod. Heitkamp received more than 51% of the vote while Dotzenrod had nearly 47% of the vote.

Sebastion Ertelt and Kathy Skroch won re-election to the District 26 House seats.

District 26 is located in Dickey, Sargent, Ransom, and Richland Counties.
