On Wednesday, April 18th, it was reported that the end was near for department store operator Bon-Ton, the parent company of Herberger’s. And, the closing is moving quickly.
Herberger’s card holders were sent notice on April 19th that there card was terminated and would have until June 30, 2018 to pay the balance.
And, yes, you are still on the hook to pay your balance.
Additionally, if you have a gift card for the retailer, that must be used by Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Two liquidation firms purchased the bankrupt company’s assets, after the retailer failed to find a bidder willing to continue operating the business.
The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. was operating 260 stores in 24 states, largely in the Northeast and Midwest, when it filed for bankruptcy in January. Liquidation firms Great American Group and Tiger Capital Group are the winners of the auction.
The liquidation sales have already began.
