Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins. Symptoms may include leg pain, a feeling of leg heaviness, swelling and discomfort. Varicose veins can occur anywhere in the body, but are more common in the legs. Varicose veins are not considered a serious medical condition. However, they can be uncomfortable and can lead to more serious problems, like inflammation or blood clots.
Sanford’s multi-disciplinary vascular team offers services including vascular surgery and interventional treatments.
