200,000 gallons of water flooded Bonanzaville. To make matters worse, it then froze. No one can say how saturated the ground is, whether or not it will crumble the historic schoolhouse foundation or what the ultimate cost will be.
Questions linger almost a month and a half since some thoughtless person(s) turned on the outdoor water spigot and walked away.
Missy Warren joins IT2 with an update. After the help of a local plumbing company and a landscaping outfit, they have removed a lot of the surface ice as well as installed new water lines that won’t allow this type of vandalism to take place again.
But those are things you can see. There is still a huge question about what lurks underneath the ground. That much water has surely saturated the grounds. What will happen to streets? The foundation of the century old schoolhouse? What about the impending problems from the thaw?
All of this and more are in the minds of Bonanzaville administration and patrons. Their
GoFundMe Page
has raised over $4,500 – but that number could mean small potatoes as the bills from restoration continue to pile up.
