A few weeks ago, Amy and JJ had a chance to meet Sara Dcamp and learn about her battle with rectal cancer. Today, they invited Sara and Natalie into the studio to talk about their ongoing efforts to educate and energize the community when it comes to rectal cancer.
Sara, who is undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the time of this interview, is hoping that friends and loved ones who are fighting rectal cancer will come out and bring their friends/family along with. Taking the battle out of the shadows is the first step in getting the world to take rectal cancer seriously.
Signs that could lead to early detection are brushed off in a million different ways and both Natalie and Sara want to change that narrative. “It’s becoming more common among younger people,” Sara notes.
