I take a vacation day and get in my car to go somewhere and all of a sudden my phone is suggesting “1020 25th Street South” as my location… “traffic is light”… or, I get in the car and my phone suggests my child’s school as my next location… my phone isn’t wrong, but it is creepy!
Apple is keeping track of “significant locations” in your life. And, by significant, I mean, every location you are at, when you are there and for how long.
Here’s how to find it.
1. Go to “Settings”
2. Then go to “Privacy”
3. At the very top go to “Location Services”
4. Now scroll to the very bottom to “System Services”
5. Here you will find “Significant locations”
When you click into significant locations, there you will see how your iphone is keeping track of where you’ve been (categorized by location), when you were there and for how long.
If you want to get rid of this feature, don’t forget to first “Clear History” (at the bottom).
