Kari Torgerson is a physical therapist with Rehab4life and At Home Therapy. Kari
is certified in specific Parkinson’s Disease training programs (LSVT BIG and PWR! Moves) and shares what a Parkinson diagnosis does physically and mentally to a patient as well as their loved ones and caregivers.
Each person with Parkinson has an individual journey they will take. Similarities abound, but no two people will have the same life when battling Parkinson’s. For example, staying in your home have drastically different meanings if you live on a rural piece of farm land versus an apartment in the city. The feelings of denial are more prevalent for some than others.
Whatever your personal journey, know that there are a great deal of people who can relate in some way or form. Support groups and the upcoming Parkinson’s Symposium are great resources to meet and talk about the change in your life.
The Midwest Parkinson’s Initiative would like to invite you to their Parkinson’s Symposium.
