Mama Luke is an old friend of JJ’s and she takes some time to call into Fargo from her home in Kentucky to talk about the pageantry and history of The Kentucky Derby.
Saturday, May 4th will be the 145th running of the iconic race and Mama Luke tips us off that it’s weeks and months of events leading up to the most exciting two minutes in sports. From the dresses and hats of attendees to the chocolate derby pie – Kentucky puts their best foot forward when it comes to hosting guests from around the world.

Mama Luke even mentions that she is a whiz at picking the winners, but doesn’t gamble because, “If I bet, then that horse would lose.” So she is a-ok with telling everyone else who the winner will be.
Some serious southern wisdom in this podcast.
