Dr. Winning says “canine Brucellosis is, “nothing new to be afraid of, it has been in North Dakota… it’s everywhere… and typically it comes from out of state.”
However, it is a report-able disease and the recommended protocol is to euthanize the dog, as it can be spread to other dogs and humans. It can be tough to treat and there is no cure.
The symptoms in humans are hard to diagnosis, as they can often mirror tick-borne diseases or fibromyalga.
