On Thursday, June 6th 2019 – local residents will get a unique opportunity to hear Jayne Clairmont speak as part of a one day workshop for caregivers at the Hilton Garden Inn in Fargo, ND.
Jayne joins It Takes Two with Amy and JJ to provide some details about the event, but she also answers questions to strip away any barriers about the stigma of dementia or Alzheimer’s.
For instance, a caregiver who is not able to provide the required care for a loved one shouldn’t feel like a failure – they should recognize that they have limits as well and rely on the idea of a fully lived life for their partner, parent or loved one.
Jayne has real life experience as a caregiver – in fact, more than 35 years – so she knows the first hand questions or ideas that someone might be wondering as they progress into a new chapter of their life along with their loved one. Keeping an open mind and being realistic about what to expect makes the transition smooth.
