Brenda is the owner of Schmidt’s Gems and this might be the only time she begs you to TAKE OFF your jewelry! However, she says, she has seen plenty of broken bands, busted prongs, loose stones… and, worst of all, lost jewelry already this summer.

A “Trade Secret”
When is comes to cleaning your jewelry, Brenda shares a “trade secret”: “A little Windex, goes a long way”!
If you are looking to do a quick clean of your jewelry from home, a little Windex, a toothbrush and some warm water will do the trick.
If you are looking to pry-off that ring that is stuck on your finger, try a little Windex!
“It’s got an ammonia base, so it doesn’t destroy or hurt the gold or gemstones, but it’s got a soapy residue to it… and will allow the ring to come off… without leaving a film,” Brenda says.
