Mayor Brandon Bochenski
GRAND FORKS, ND (KFGO) – As of Wednesday, Grand Forks bars will no longer have to close early.
Mayor Brandon Bochenski has signed an emergency order rescinding his previous orders on liquor license holders having to close at 11:00 p.m.
The original orders on Aug. 29 were intended to help stop the spread of COVID-19.
Bochenski says the city has seen a “consistent downward trend” in case numbers in the last two weeks and he believes it is time to lift the restriction. Bochenski said he still strongly encourages bars and restaurants to follow the state’s 50% capacity guideline.
The mayor said he will “closely monitor” the situation.
