Every week, we provide you with something to SEE in theaters, STREAM from the comfort of your own home or SKIP all together. This week, we switched it up – we have 1 see & 2 steams. We don’t have any skip picks this 4th of July week!
See it – Late Night
This dramedy (comedy-drama) is the perfect easy-to-watch flick. While some critics say it doesn’t have many surprises, others are praising it for the great writing (taking on #MeToo, diversity and gender) and the roles of Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling. Mindy Kaling wrote, co-produced and stars in the film. She best known for her work on “The Office” and this film is partly autobiographical from her time there.
Stream it – Historical Roasts with Jeff Ross
This review might say it all: ”
Historical Roasts is still figuring out the balance between history and black comedy, but if it’s an oddball treat for educated insult fans.”
It’s a little edgy… and not for everyone. This is a pick from guest co-host Perry Miller!
Stream it – 30 for 30: The Good, the Bad, and the Hungry
In honor of the 4th of July and the annual Nathan’s Hotdog Eating Contest tradition, here is a documentary focusing on all the drama that surrounds the event. And may leave you with an unexpected view of the contest.
