The 2019 Western Minnesota Steam Threshers Reunion features the Case Expo…and people are talking! Upon arriving, the young and old are anxious to see the HUGE 150 HP Case that is on display. Seeing is believing when you stand next to this monster of early 20th century engineering.
The back wheels along are over 8 feet tall.
This is one of the many attractions that have gathered thousands upon thousands every Labor Day weekend in Rollag, MN. The reunion is not only for those who have a passion for steam engines, early agricultural equipment or farming in general – it’s a living, steaming and MOVING museum.
There are hundreds of people from across the country attending in excess of the thousands of locals. If you listen (and wait near the Lutheran church treat booth) you’ll even catch some accents from Norway, England, Australia, Japan and more. An internationally respected event right in our own backyard.
It Takes Two got the chance to sit down with Pete Mandt (current WMSTR President), Eric Nelson (one of the most passionate members and a past President) as well as Kee Gushong (from the great state of Missouri), They all have great information and stories about the show they would love for you to hear before coming out to Rollag.
Kee shares an especially fun story about wearing a KFGO cap on a recent cruise trip to Norway. In the isolated part of the tip of Norway (the northernmost part of the continent) he happens to run into another fellow wearing a KFGO cap!
The reunion goes through Labor Day. Stop out and enjoy the fun!
