IN THIS EPISODE:
Bruce tackles some common winter car issues such as…
1. Your Battery. You get what you pay for. The hardest your battery works is in extreme cold and extreme heat. Some folks luck out when they buy a middle of the road battery and it makes it several years in our harsh winters. Others due not. Buy a battery from a brand you trust or your selected mechanic trusts. That way, you have someone to talk to if it fails in that first winter!
2. Tires. Simple answer. Look for the snowflake on the tire. If you see it, this was meant for snow (especially in states that use the tire chain rule). If you don’t see it, you’ll be slipping and sliding.
3. Stuck on snow/ice. Be careful! Having someone hook up a tow rope to something under your car could do more damage than a night in a snowbank. The nest tool for getting unstuck is a shovel. Make sure all four tires have contact with the ground and you should get out easier.
4. Washing your car. Bruce says that every couple of weeks its a good thing to consider washing your car. Get the service that washes underneath and get all of that grime, ice and chemical off of your underbody.
You will also hear about the three types of options you have when your transmission goes out, how to choose and what you can expect that transmission to give you as far as a longer life.
Plus a whole lot more!
