BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The last time these two teams tangled in Vermillion earlier this year, the University of South Dakota Coyotes women’s basketball team destroyed the South Dakota State Jackrabbits 83-48….something USD has done to almost every Summit League opponent so far this year.
The Jacks seemed so shaken by that devastating loss that they struggled to defeat North Dakota State in their next game. But the Jacks quickly regained their composure after that game.
Today, the stakes are very high. These two teams stand atop the Summit: South Dakota is 14-0 in league play and South Dakota State is 12-2. If the Coyotes win again today, they will clinch the regular season Summit League title.
South Dakota is rated #15 in the nation in the coaches poll and #20 in the Associated Press poll.
