Minnesota corn production is forecast at 1.51 billion bushels, up 20 percent from last year, according to the latest USDA Crop Production report released August 12, 2020.
Yields are expected to average 197 bushels per acre this is an increase of 24 bushels per acre from last year, being the highest Minnesota corn yield on record.
Soybean production is forecast at 374 million bushels, up 25% from last year. The yield is forecasted at 51 bushels per acre, 7 bushels above 2019, this would be the second-highest Minnesota soybean yield on record.
Spring wheat production is estimated at 73.1 million bushels, a decrease of 8% from 2019. Yield is forecast at 58 bushels per acre, up 1 bushel from the July forecast and up 1 bushel per acre from 2019.
Sugarbeet production is estimated at 12.2 million tons, up 45% from last year. Yield is forecast at 29 tons per acre, up 4 tons per acre from last year.
