For the week ending August 9, 2020, there were a little less than 6 days suitable for fieldwork in South Dakota, according to the USDA’s National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Corn silking was 95%, dough was 48%, dented was 4%, and conditions rated; 13% fair, 68% good, and 15% excellent
Soybeans blooming was 92%, setting pods was 76%, and conditions rated; 11% fair, 70% good, and 15% excellent.
Spring wheat harvested was 59% and conditions rated; 23% fair, 68% good, and 4% excellent.
Oats harvested was 83%, well ahead of 37% last year, and ahead of 72% average.
Sorghum headed was 60%, coloring was 3%, and conditions rated; 19% fair, 73% good, and 5% excellent.
