DAVIS, CALIF. – UC Davis scored five runs in the third inning Thursday, as the Aggies beat the North Dakota State baseball team 6-2 at Dobbins Stadium.
NDSU dropped to 1-4 on the year, while the Aggies improved to 3-2. The two teams will face each other again on Friday, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. (central) at Dobbins Stadium in Davis, Calif.
Six different players tallied a hit for the Bison, including a double from Jake Malec. Tristen Roehrich suffered the loss in his first career start, allowing six earned runs on 10 hits, while striking out one in four innings. Parker Harm struck out four, while allowing one hit, in 1.2 innings of work.
NDSU took the early lead, as Bennett Hostetler scored on a single to right field by Tucker Rohde in the third inning. The Aggies answered with five runs in the bottom of the inning and added a final run in the fourth inning. It marked the fourth-straight game the Bison have allowed five runs in an inning. In the sixth, Brock Anderson singled up the middle to drive in Malec.
