MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO) – On “Afternoons Live”, DFL State Senator Rob Kupec of Moorhead said Minnesota’s next legislative session will have to help counties address changes made by the One Big Beautiful Act.
The bill signed into law by President Donald Trump last year cut SNAP benefits and no longer allows able-bodied adults without dependents to be eligible for Medicaid.
“When I talk to county commissioners, they’re saying take away inflation, take away health insurance going up, take away raises to people, we’re probably looking at a 6% property tax increase,” Kupec explained.
Kupec faces Hawley School Board Member, Republican Austin Peterson, in the November election.
