FARGO, N.D. (KFGO) – A brick laying ceremony will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 13 at the Garden of Healing.
It’s at 51st Street and 32nd Avenue South in Fargo’s Urban Plains Park.
The bricks are bought by families who lost a loved one.
Sarah and Arlin Fisher talked with the KFGO Morning Crew about starting the Garden of Healing after their son, Cameron, died in a crash in 2018.
“Some days are good and some days different things hit you and when you can have that community and tell your story with someone who understands, it’s very healing,” Sarah Fisher explained.
Work is being done to increase the garden’s size from 3,000 to 30,000 square feet.
Arlin shared the importance of the wind phone at the garden.
“A wind phone is a phone that’s physically connected to nothing, but emotionally connected to everything. If you want to reach out to call someone you lost or someone you lost connection with,” Arlin Fisher said.
