ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KFGO/KBRF) – A Wolverton man has been sentenced for manslaughter after shooting someone at a New Year’s party.
On Wednesday, Myron Johanson, 27, was sentenced to spend six years in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in St. Cloud after he pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter. Prosecutors say Jorden Boehm, 22, was killed from a gunshot wound at the party.
Witnesses say Johanson had been waving a gun and pointed it at several people. Before the shooting, witnesses say Johanson put the gun under Boehm’s chin and asked if he trusted him. The gun fired.
Johanson called police shortly after and was taken into custody.
He was originally charged with third degree murder along with manslaughter, however, that was dismissed as part of a plea agreement in April.
