Just in time for National Sugar Cookie Day (really), here’s the latest edition of “Reader Feedback.” Often imitated, never duplicated, it’s a column about you, the readers. It tells you what readers are saying to me or about me in emails, Facebook, or published comments. About 80% of the comments are wonderful. Here are some of them.
–From Rita: “Welcome back, Jim! Thank you to KFGO for giving North Dakota a voice and a choice! Jim, you do great work!”
–From Barry: “You are even in a better spot, Jim! You continue being so relevant and timely.”
–From Jamie: “Nice to hear your voice, Jim. I knew they couldn’t silence you. Congrats again on the new platform.”
–From Jennifer: “Yay!!! Great to be able to read your column again…and for free!”
–From Faith: “Thank you for always telling the truth, especially in these times when journalists are being silenced in many ways. It takes guts, and I really appreciate you and your honest reporting.”
I am humbled by these fabulous comments. Thanks so much! Now, let’s hear from readers who have a different view of my work, along with my responses.
–From Ron: “Shaw, your columns with KFGO are still as worthless as they were at the Forum.”
Dear Ron, And you’re still reading them.
–From Jessie: “Jim Shaw is a commie.”
Dear Jessie, Kim Jong Un sends his regards.
–From Mike (after my column about Stephen Colbert’s departure from CBS): “I’ll give Jim Shaw a big towel so he can wipe his tears.”
Dear Mike, I will give you dark glasses and earplugs, so you don’t have to read and hear about Donald Trump’s cruelty and corruption.
–From Doug (also after my column about Stephen Colbert’s departure from CBS): “It’s like saying the Forum and subscribers miss Jim Shaw.”

U.S. Senator Kevin Cramer
Dear Doug, I couldn’t have said it better myself.
–From North Dakota Senator Kevin Cramer (after my column criticizing him and other members of Congress for not holding a vote to approve the war in Iran): “Once again, readers are misled—beyond the insinuation Shaw has thoughts of his own—into reading a column that is nothing more than the author grasping for straws and shrieking about a Constitution which has, up until now, been nothing more than a curiosity in his life.”
Dear Senator Cramer, I know it says in Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution that only Congress can declare war, and that this Congress has not done that. I also know that you took an oath to support and defend the Constitution, not Donald Trump. Thanks for reading my columns.
–From Don (after my column criticizing Interior Secretary Doug Burgum for betraying the legacy of Theodore Roosevelt): “Burgum is a successful businessman. How many businesses have you started?”
Dear Don, Burgum is such a successful businessman that he has wasted millions of dollars and deceived the public over the Reflecting Pool fiasco, devastated the U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service, failed to protect public lands and endangered species, attempted to whitewash America’s history of racism, illegally suspended offshore wind farm construction projects, and absurdly said there’s room for Donald Trump on Mount Rushmore…

Jim Shaw – celebrating first newscast of Fox News at 9
Oh, and I started a very successful television news department, which meant I did everything from hiring dozens of employees to ordering all the expensive equipment.

Jim Shaw – first news staff FOX News at 9 (now called KVRR Local News)
–From Secede Outstate Minnesota: “Shaw, are you ever gonna retire and go away?
Dear Secede, As long as you’re reading my columns, I will keep writing them.
–From GRC8VKGZK: “Shaw is a hateful man, who loves evil and hates good.”
Dear GRC8VKGZK, I love you.
Keep those comments coming, and stay tuned for the next edition of “Reader Feedback.”
