District 1 – Baudette area

CO Nick Bruesewitz (Karlstad) spent the week monitoring ATV traffic throughout the area. Nuisance animal calls were handled during the week.
CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week checking area anglers, monitoring ATV traffic, and following up with various complaints.
CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent a large portion of the week patrolling ATV trails, and enforcement action was taken for operating a road vehicle on an ATV trail. Fontes also took enforcement action for possessing an illegal-length walleye, DWI, and driving after suspension.
CO Bobby Stringer (Thief River Falls West) reports an active week for recreational vehicle traffic in and around the state forest. Rainy conditions did help with the dusty conditions; however, Stringer would like to remind of the light requirements while operating ATVs. Stringer investigated a significant dumping case at the Kratka Crossing/bridge water access point. If you have information on the case, please reach out via tip411. Additional enforcement actions for the week included appropriate waters of the state without a permit and a variety of ATV violations.
CO Sarah Jahn ( Thief River Falls East) time was spent monitoring area fishing activity, the walleye bite appeared to slow down due to the cooler weather. A complaint regarding a dead elk was taken, unfortunately the young bull had been hit by a car.
CO Nicholas Prachar (Blackduck #1) reports high winds and rain have made angling more difficult. Time was spent working ATV activity, angling activity, and boating safety.

District 2 – Bemidji area

CO Jamus Veit (Bemidji #1) spent the week checking anglers and ATV riders in the Bemidji area. Time was also spent attending training for personal watercraft, following up on cases, and fielding wildlife complaints.
CO Andrew Goodman (Perham) reports variable activity with sustained winds making water recreation and angling conditions less than ideal. Anglers checked reported some success with fish still transitioning to summer patterns. Additional time was spent on public water access complaints, PWC training and a DWI arrest.
CO Jake Swedberg (Detroit Lakes) spent time training with the K9 unit. Other time was spent checking angles and boaters. Assistance was given to local agencies, in regards to a bank robbery incident.
CO Curtis Jepson (Osage) spent the week focusing on area anglers and ATV activity. Enforcement action was taken for operating an unauthorized vehicle on a Grant-in-Aid ATV trail and for multiple no-angling license violations. A wolf depredation call was also investigated in the Bagley station.
CO Angela Warren (Mahnomen) spent time on angling and boating activity. AIS regulation compliance was worked, leeching activity was monitored and patrol was conducted for off road vehicle and ATV activity. WMAs and WPAs were patrolled and a call from an individual concerned about a fawn was received. The public is reminded fawns can be left multiple hours before the mother returns and they are rarely abandoned.
CO Bill Landmark (Moorhead) spent the week working on ongoing investigations and reports.
CO Grey Corbus (Pelican Rapids) spent the week monitoring angling, boating and ATV activity, as well as fielding various wildlife complaints. Corbus attended a division PWC training with several other CO’s as well. Enforcement action was taken for various boating registration violations, ATV violations, taking an illegal Muskellunge, and using game fish as bait.
CO Brady Manteufel (Bagley) attended training for a new record management system this week at Camp Ripley. Assistance was also provided to local county agencies and public accesses and lakes were checked for activity. Property left unattended or abandoned on public lands were also addressed.
CO Ryan Schaefer (Bemidji #2) spent this past week checking local anglers and monitoring ATV activity. Positive reports of panfish, bass, and northern pike being caught were consistent on area lakes. Walleye are starting to be seen in live wells, as some anglers are finding success trolling weed lines with crankbaits. Enforcement action was taken for individuals failing to have enough life jackets onboard a watercraft, juveniles under age 18 failing to have helmets on an ATV, and operating OHMs on non-designated trail systems.
District 3 – Fergus Falls area

CO Tricia Plautz (Henning) continues to work with local government units on a wetland violation case. Fishing, boating, and ATV activity were monitored along with invasive species.
CO Ryan Brown (Elbow Lake) spent his enforcement effort with angling and boating enforcement throughout the week. Additional time was spent with a wanton waste/trespass case. Questions regarding the new licensing system were also received and fielded.
CO Shane Osborne (Evansville) completed investigations on Aquathrusters excavating lakebed on area lakes. Several calls and questions were received about the new license system and some of the issues people have trying to buy licenses. AIS patrol was conducted at various public water accesses.
CO Jake Homan (Alexandria) spent the week patrolling Douglas County for angling, ATV, and recreational boating activities. Time was spent investigating public water violations. Enforcement action was taken for a variety of ATV violations.
CO Felicia Znajda (Osakis) focused on angling and ATV enforcement while she balanced time at Camp Ripley for training. She reports continued angler success, but not as much activity on the weekend due to the high winds. Various violations encountered with enforcement action taken.
CO Andrew Ladzinski (Glenwood) dedicated his time to angling and recreational vehicle enforcement. Multiple calls for service on nuisance animals were handled. He attended a multi-agency training for law enforcement personal watercraft operations. Enforcement action was taken for various watercraft safety violations and failing to have angling licenses in possession when requested.

District 4 – Walker area

CO Patrick McGowan (Cass Lake) worked Cass, Winnibigoshish and Leech Lakes throughout the week. Enforcement action was taken for numerous boating and fishing violations. McGowan also investigated a TIP complaint of an abandoned gill net.
CO Jack Lien (Walker) focused on ATV enforcement and put many miles on his issued four-wheeler. Many forest roads and county roads were patrolled. Very little violations were found and most people seen were following ATV regulations. Lien investigated wildlife complaints and dealt with some calls regarding public water use. Lien also assisted local agencies with calls in the area.
CO Levi Brown (Staples) checked anglers on local lakes with whispers of panfish bites around the area. Throughout the week, Brown helped many navigate the new licensing system. He also took enforcement action for violations related to recreational vehicles.
