(KNFL/KFGO) – A low-scoring pitcher’s duel turned into a late-game thriller at Newman Outdoor Field, but the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks ultimately fell 5-3 in 10 innings to the Lake Country DockHounds. Lake Country jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the second inning, highlighted by a sharp RBI triple from Peter Zimmermann.
The RedHawks’ bats came alive late, starting with a clutch two-out RBI single by Colby Wilkerson in the seventh. Fargo-Moorhead then staged a furious eighth-inning rally, loading the bases before Juan Fernandez tied the game with an RBI single and Dillon Thomas smacked another line drive to right to give the RedHawks a late 3-2 lead.
Lake Country tied it up in the bottom of the frame, sending the game into extra innings. The decisive blow came in the tenth when the DockHounds’ Joshua Mears crushed a towering, two-run home run to left field, sealing the tough loss for the RedHawks.
