Alvina F. Lillibridge, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2026, in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Alvina Faye Stone was born the daughter of Glenson and Albertha (Wolfswinkel) Stone in Breckenridge, MN. She was raised in Wahpeton, ND, and graduated from Wahpeton High School. Alvina pursued high education at North Dakota School of Science, Wahpeton and Valley City (ND) State University before receiving her degree in Education from Moorhead (MN) State University. Demostrating a strong commitment to her profession, she obtained her master’s degree in education from North Dakota State University and furthered her studies toward a Doctorate at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND.
Alvina began her distinguished career in education serving as an Elementary Principal in Georgetown, MN, under the Moorhead Public Schools System. On August 7, 1960, she was united in marriage to Charle N. Lillibridge in Wahpeton. They established their home in Fargo, where Alvina would continue her educational leadership until her retirement in 2000.
In addition to their shared careers in education, in 1964, Alvina and Charles embarked on another journey when they opened Lillibridge’s Maple Lake Resort on Loon Lake near Vergas, MN. They owned and operated the resort for 55 years creating cherished memories and cultivating a loyal customer following before selling the property in 2020. After retirement, the couple enjoyed extensive traveling in the winters, including visits to Mexico and South America. After Charles passed on February 5, 2019, Alvina continued making her home in Fargo.
Alvina and Charles also shared a love for collecting classic cars and she was known for being a great storyteller.
Alvina is survived by nieces; nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; brother, Norman D. Stone; and sister, Pamela R. Stone.
According to Alvina’s wishes no services will take place.
