Hornbacher's Express (Ryan Janke, KFGO News)
FARGO (KFGO) – Less than a month after marking its 75th anniversary in Fargo-Moorhead, the owner of Hornbacher’s is closing the company’s Hornbacher’s Express Store at 1433 University Drive S in Fargo.
St. Cloud-based Coborn’s says the store will close on June 27.
The company says the lease for the store is expiring and it made the difficult decision to close the location.
“Decisions like this are never easy, especially for an employee-owned company where our people are at the heart of everything we do,” Coborn’s CEO and Chairman Chris Coborn said. “We are incredibly proud of the Express team and deeply grateful for the dedication and care they have shown our guests over the years. Their efforts have helped make this store an important part of the community, and this decision is not a reflection of their performance or commitment.”
Coborn’s says the store employs more than 60 full and part-time workers, who will be offered positions at other locations.
In addition to Hornbacher’s, Coborn’s owns Cash Wise Foods in Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo.
