AΘΗΝΑ (Reuters) – Greece’s central government recorded a primary budget deficit of 5.86 billion euros in January- June, missing its target for a surplus due to a lockdown to contain the coronavirus, finance ministry data showed on Wednesday.
The government was formerly projecting a primary budget surplus, which excludes debt-servicing costs, of 313 mln euros in the six-month period, meaning the result underperformed the target by 6.17 billion euros.
