Law enforcement responds to Fargo North High School (Ryan Janke, KFGO News)
FARGO (KFGO) – A threat directed toward Fargo North High School and Washington Elementary School led to lockdowns at both buildings and a massive police response Friday. The threat was determined not to be credible.
The threat was made to the Fargo Public School District. Fargo, West Fargo and NDSU Police, Cass County deputies, Fargo fire and Sanford Ambulance responded. The highway patrol also assisted.
Interim Police Chief Travis Stefonowicz says the call was made at about 1:15 p.m. Police conducted a vehicle search in the parking lots of North High School and also searched inside the school. The lockdowns were lifted at about 2:45. Ben Franklin Middle school also took security precautions.
An investigation is underway to determine who made the call and where it originated from.
Around the same time the threat was made in Fargo, Stefonowicz says a similar call was made to a school in South Dakota.
