Amanda Merriman (Hennepin Co. Jail)
EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (KFGO) – A woman who had a revoked driver’s license has been charged a fatal head-on crash in Eden Prairie last weekend.
Police responded to a call of a pickup going the wrong direction on Highway 212 on Saturday night. The pickup crashed into a car a short time later. The driver of the car, a 69-year-old Hopkins man, died at the scene. The 50-year-old woman who was driving the pickup, Amanda Merriman, said she had two drinks.
Police say Merriman told officers she was driving home to Victoria from River Falls, Wisconsin and she didn’t know she was driving the wrong way.
Merriman has prior convictions for driving while intoxicated. She had her driver’s license revoked after she was convicted of driving under the influence two years ago.
She was also on probation for having methamphetamine.
