Garmonyou Wiles (Cass County Jail)
FARGO (KFGO KVRR) – The man arrested in a shooting in the parking lot of Heritage Middle School in Horace on Monday was once charged with selling crack cocaine and counterfeit cash to undercover federal agents in Philadelphia.
Garmonyou Wiles, 40, of Fargo, has been charged in Cass County District Court with attempted murder, reckless endangerment, terrorizing, aggravated assault and discharge of a firearm within a city. Wiles was an employee of a company involved in a construction project at the school. Authorities say he shot a co-worker in a dispute. No students or school employees were injured or connected to the shooting.
According to U.S. District Court documents in Pennsylvania, Wiles pleaded guilty to 11 drug and counterfeit-related charges in 2017.
In 2016, Wiles sold crack cocaine to two people during a controlled purchase that was supervised by law enforcement. A Secret Service affidavit says in 2017, Wiles and another man sold an officer $10,000 in counterfeit cash in exchange for $2,000 in genuine currency.
Wiles was sentenced to 40 months in federal prison. He was released in February, 2020.
