Body of missing Valley City man found, had been reported missing last Thursday

VALLEY CITY, N.D. (KFGO) – Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says an autopsy will be done to determine the cause of death of a Valley City man whose body was found in a remote location in the county Monday afternoon.

Mark Korf was reported missing last Thursday afternoon. He didn’t return home from cutting wood.

McClaflin says his department, Valley City Fire Rescue, Highway Patrol tracking dogs, and family members conducted the search. Korf’s body was discovered by a deputy on a UTV.

McClaflin says there’s nothing suspicious about the death.
