FARGO – The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks won a pitchers’ duel 3-1 on Saturday night from Newman Outdoor Field.
RedHawks (3-5 overall) starter Tyler Pike picked up the win, going 6 and 2/3 innings, giving up 1 run on 3 hits with 8 strikeouts.
Eddie Butler was perfect through 3 and 2/3 innings for Chicago, before Fargo-Moorhead outfielder Correlle Prime hit a single in the bottom of the fourth inning. Butler pitched 5 and 1/3 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and 4 strikeouts.
Chicago (2-5 overall) scored the first run of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Joey Terdoslavich scored after a Michael Crouse RBI single.
The RedHawks tied the game in the bottom of the fifth inning. Brennan Metzger hit a RBI single and Dario Pizzano scored to tie the game at 1.
Drew Ward drew a bases loaded walk in the bottom of sixth inning and Prime scored from third for the game-winning run.
Dylan Kelly added an insurance run with a RBI double in the bottom of the eighth inning, which scored Ward.
