Moorhead Coca-Cola distribution center (KVRR)
MOORHEAD (KFGO-KVRR) – One of the region’s largest beverage and soft drink distributors is on the move.
After several decades, the Coca-Cola distribution plant in Moorhead will shut down and move to a new location in West Fargo.
The plant is owned by Coca-Cola High Country of Rapid City, South Dakota, which acquired the plant in 2015.
Spokeswoman Brooke Dilley says the company plans to provide more information during a groundbreaking ceremony on April 8.
“We look forward to celebrating the beginning of this exciting new facility and what it represents for our future growth and continued service in the region,” Dilley said.
Moorhead Mayor Shelly Carlson says she was surprised to hear about the move and wishes the company would have approached the city to see if something could be done so they could stay in Moorhead.
The new plant will be located in an industrial area on 3rd Ave. Northwest in West Fargo.
