Semi crash west of Steele, ND on March 26, 2026 (NDHP)
STEELE, N.D. (KFGO) – Westbound Interstate-94 was closed for about 7 hours on Thursday morning after an injury crash involving multiple vehicles west of Steele, North Dakota. Steele is between Bismarck and Jamestown.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says the crash happened around 6:00 a.m.
A semi tipped and was blocking both westbound lanes.
Troopers say the interstate was closed for an extended period of time as crews cleared the scene and investigated the crash.
A detour was in place until the interstate was re-opened around 1:00 p.m.
