Malaun Nelson, 31, Grand Forks
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – A former staff member at a Grand Forks Middle School is now facing federal charges related to a child sexual exploitation case.
Malaun Nelson, 31, is charged with seven counts including four counts of attempted sexual exploitation of a child, and one count each of sexual exploitation of a child, receipt of images depicting sexual exploitation of a child, and transfer of obscene materials to minors under 16 years of age.
Nelson was a classroom specialist at Valley Middle School.
She was arrested in December 2025 after allegations surfaced that she was soliciting pictures from students.
Two charges of luring minors by computer and use of a minor in a sexual performance, filed in Northeast Central District Court in Grand Forks, have been dismissed.
Nelson remains in the Grand Forks County Jail.
