BISMARCK, N.D. – Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has announced Agriculture Diversification and Development (ADD) Fund awards for five projects. The awards totaling $1 million were approved at the ADD quarterly meeting Feb. 25 in Bismarck.
The ADD Fund is administered by the North Dakota Department of Agriculture. The fund was created to support new or expanding value-added-agriculture businesses that demonstrate financial feasibility, enhance profitability for the industry, create jobs and grow North Dakota’s economy.
The following received approval:
Carnis Meat Processing LLC received $250,000 to procure meat processing equipment and upgrade their facility.
Hystad Ranch received $300,000 to support the construction of a hoop barn to expand livestock operations.
J&D Feeders, LLC received $200,000 to support the construction of a hoop barn to expand livestock operations.
Smoke Wagon Meats, LLC received $100,000 to support the construction of a new facility and procure meat processing equipment.
Travis Dukart received $150,000 to support the construction of a hoop barn and supporting facilities to accommodate an expanded cow-calf operation and backgrounding facility.
Types of projects eligible for the fund include but are not limited to agriculture product manufacturing and animal production facilities, commodity processing facilities, and food production and processing facilities. Feed or pet food processing facilities may be eligible. Applications for the next meeting must be received by April 1, 2026.
