HILLSBORO, N.D. (KFGO) – Traill County in east central North Dakota is reporting its first case of the measles.
The North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services confirmed two new measles cases in the state on Thursday, March 5, bringing this year’s total to 23.
Twenty of the cases are in Pembina County, one in Traill, one in Walsh and one in Williams County.
Sixteen of the cases are people under the age of 19. Four people have had to be hospitalized.
The United States has confirmed 1,136 cases in 2026. Manitoba, Canada is currently reporting an outbreak of measles.
Globally, increased measles cases are being reported in many countries.
