GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – More than 700 homes and businesses in several North Dakota counties are without power as freezing drizzle moved through Friday morning.
The Steele County Sheriff’s Office says it’s receiving reports of power outages.
All of the electrical providers are aware and working to get power back on.
“They will be out today and through the weekend to get everyone back on as quickly as they can,” staff posted on a Steele County social media account. “Please keep an eye out for them as the linemen will be in the ditches throughout today and likely this weekend to get everything fixed so be wary of them as you are traveling this weekend.”
County officials say more outages are possible with the wind picking up and power lines collecting ice.
If you are without power and need assistance, you can call Steele County at 701-524-2742.
A power outage map also shows outages in Grand Forks, Nelson, Walsh, Ramsey, Griggs and Cavalier Counties.
