(KNFL/KFGO) – The UND women’s basketball squad had a chance to clinch the Summit League Tournament at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, against the Omaha Mavericks, in the Play-In Game. UND would come in at the 9 seed, while Omaha came in as the 8.
Omaha’s defense was a challenge early on, as North Dakota would struggle offensively in the 1st quarter. The Fighting Hawks went 1/15 from the field, while putting up only 3 points. In the whole game, UND would go 12/51 from the field, and 1/20 from 3-point range. Senior Guard, Mackenzie Hughes, and Senior Forward, Walker Demers, would each get 10 points. They would be the only players for North Dakota in double figures.
Omaha advances to play top seed North Dakota State in the first round of the Summit League Tournament.
