GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – Officers arrested two people after a pursuit and standoff in Grand Forks Wednesday night.
Police say an officer tried stopping a vehicle in the 1400 block of S. 10th Street. They say the vehicle had an equipment violation and was driven by someone the officer knew had a suspended licence. The driver refused to stop and led the officer on a pursuit for over a mile.
The pursuit ended in the 2000 block of Library Ln. when a Grand Forks County Sheriff’s deputy used a Pursuit Intervention Technique.
The two people refused to exit the vehicle. Officers and deputies used less lethal impact rounds to get the people to come out. They eventually surrendered peacefully.
The driver, 33-year-old John Dubois was arrested for fleeing, possession of a controlled substance, reckless endangerment, and driving under suspension.
The passenger, 27-year-old Shania Charging Cloud was arrested on outstanding warrants from south dakota.
